Theatre Nurse – Scrub Practitioner (Ophthalmic)

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre and ensure all required equipment and consumables are available and sterile
• Assist the surgical team during ophthalmic procedures, maintaining strict aseptic technique
• Deliver high-quality patient care throughout the peri-operative journey
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient theatre flow
• Maintain accurate and clear patient documentation in line with professional standards
• Uphold all health and safety, infection control, and clinical governance requirements

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC pin or Registered ODP (HCPC)
• Experience as a Scrub Practitioner
• Ophthalmic experience preferred (training can be provided)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced theatre environments
