Theatre Nurse

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-operative assessments and support anaesthetists during induction and maintenance of anaesthesia
• Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery
• Prepare sterile equipment and instruments and assist surgeons during procedures
• Maintain a sterile surgical field throughout operations
• Monitor and support patients as they wake from anaesthesia
• Manage pain relief and assess for post-operative complications
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (Adult) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
• Valid NMC pin
• Experience in Anaesthetics and/or Scrub in a theatre environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Understanding of infection control and safety standards
