About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach the Theatrical Design Fundamentals course, focusing on both conceptual and operational design techniques
- Develop course curriculum in consultation with the Director of the program
- Educate students using creative pedagogy tailored to varying backgrounds and skill sets
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to support student progress throughout the semester
- Maintain accurate attendance records and submit final grades
Requirements
- MFA in Scenic Design or a similar degree (or equivalent professional experience)
- At least two years of professional experience in two or more areas of theatrical design (e.g., scenic, lighting, costume, sound, props)
- Strong working knowledge across multiple areas of theatrical design
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years of experience teaching or mentoring young designers
- Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
