Theatre Arts and Technology Adjunct Instructor - Theatrical Design Fundamentals

Responsibilities

• Teach the Theatrical Design Fundamentals course, focusing on both conceptual and operational design techniques
• Develop course curriculum in consultation with the Director of the program
• Educate students using creative pedagogy tailored to varying backgrounds and skill sets
• Provide clear, actionable feedback to support student progress throughout the semester
• Maintain accurate attendance records and submit final grades

Requirements

• MFA in Scenic Design or a similar degree (or equivalent professional experience)
• At least two years of professional experience in two or more areas of theatrical design (e.g., scenic, lighting, costume, sound, props)
• Strong working knowledge across multiple areas of theatrical design

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two years of experience teaching or mentoring young designers
• Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level
