Textile/Leather Cutting Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automated cutting machines for fabric, leather, vinyl, linings, and fiber
• Read and comprehend 2D assembly drawings and requisition orders
• Select appropriate materials based on BOM and inventory locations
• Identify correct napping of textile and lining materials
• Measure material length and width accurately
• Use proper cutting tools including blades, punches, and drawing tools
• Inspect materials for defects such as shading or flaws
• Log material usage and lot numbers into the database for inventory reporting
• Coordinate with sewing, R&D, and P&S departments
• Convert files for machine use using Optitex Marker program

Requirements

• Strong computer skills and ability to learn quickly
• Understanding of different fabrics and leather properties
• High precision to follow patterns and maintain quality standards
• Ability to troubleshoot basic machine faults
• Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver up to 60 lbs (27.2 kg)
• Availability for scheduled overtime
