Textile Quality Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections on textile products, footwear, and related items following sampling plans and client standards
• Issue detailed inspection reports with photographs within 24 hours of inspection completion
• Plan and optimize field routes to ensure efficient coverage of suppliers and factories
• Communicate critical deviations, rejections, or identified risks immediately to supervision
• Maintain direct contact with clients and suppliers, representing SGS professionally
• Ensure the integrity of provided measurement and inspection equipment
• Participate in periodic training and recalibration sessions

Requirements

• High school diploma completed
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a quality inspector or similar role in the textile, apparel, or footwear industry
• Active driver's license (Category B preferred) and availability to drive a personal vehicle for daily travel
• Intermediate knowledge of textile/footwear manufacturing (cutting, sewing, finishing, etc.)
• Ability to identify and classify common defects (stitching, dyeing, printing, shrinkage, etc.)
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Must have a personal vehicle in good condition, a smartphone with internet access, and a camera

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical course in textiles, fashion, footwear, or quality control
• Experience with ABNT NBR or ISO standards
• Basic English skills
