About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the lab environment and test infrastructure for the development, verification, and validation of complex medical devices.
- Manage all test assets, including capital equipment, instruments, and calibrated equipment, ensuring proper inventory and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain mechanisms for tracking, locating, and reporting on equipment status and calibration schedules.
- Perform electromechanical testing, including functional, environmental, electrical, or mechanical testing according to approved protocols.
- Set up and operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and torque tools.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances, defects, and test discrepancies.
- Lead lab organization, including layout optimization, equipment storage, and workflow improvements.
- Train, delegate, and review the work of lower-level employees and support daily operations of work teams.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, integration, or test environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience working in manufacturing or highly regulated test environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Biomedical, or Mechanical Technology.
- Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or pharmaceuticals.
- Familiarity with automated testing systems, data collection tools, and GD&T.
- Knowledge of quality systems and documentation standards such as GMP or ISO 13485.
- Basic programming or scripting experience for automated testing environments.
