Test Engineer

About the Company

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed to provide critical power to hospitals, data centers, and remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing as a Test Conductor/Test Director to ensure procedures align with real-world execution
• Partner with design engineers to develop innovative test methods for complex mechanisms and structures
• Support testing and iterative improvements of fluid, electrical, and structural hardware
• Identify and develop appropriate suppliers for component sourcing and fabrication
• Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in test processes and data delivery quality
• Ensure compliance with DOE and NRC standards in procedural documentation

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional engineering experience in system design, analysis, or testing
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline
• Background in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, aviation, or maritime
• Strong technical fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics
• Ability to work 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as an operator in fast-paced test environments (e.g., rocket engine or turbopump testing)
• Experience designing, fabricating, or operating fluid systems
• Knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers, thermocouples, and accelerometers
• Ability to interpret engineering standards such as ASME 31.3, 31.1, and ASME Boiler Code
• Proficiency with NX CAD, Teamcenter, Ion, or Epsilon3
• Experience with Beckhoff PLC Controllers
