Test Engineer - Microfluidics

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and troubleshoot microfluidic devices
• Develop and refine SOPs for device fabrication and operation
• Support in-house fabrication and evaluate outsourced manufacturing options
• Perform QC/QA tests (optical, mechanical, and electrical) on assembled devices
• Design and adapt fixtures and jigs for device interfacing and validation
• Run fluids through devices to verify cartridge integrity and collect test data
• Document, analyze, and report on microfluidic performance testing
• Collaborate with biology and engineering teams to integrate feedback into device iterations

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with microfabrication or microfluidic device testing
• Familiarity with CAD design tools
• Basic programming skills (Python, R) a plus
• Comfortable with standard lab and engineering equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability
• Capable of working independently in a small, dynamic startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cleanroom microfabrication techniques such as photolithography
• Familiarity with laboratory automation, liquid handling systems, or biology workflows
• Previous work in a startup or multidisciplinary R&D environment
