Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design circuit board layouts for new and existing test stations using Altium Designer
• Support production through failure analysis, test debugging, and reduction of false failures and equipment downtime
• Lead test improvements, including increasing test coverage and improving automation of test equipment
• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), assembly (DFA), and test (DFT) for customer products
• Develop documentation for procedures from the initial test design phase through production
• Analyze and interpret test data to generate monthly and quarterly reports and recommendations for customers
• Coordinate engineering activities regarding the development, procurement, installation, and calibration of test instruments and control devices
• Provide training on new procedures to production test operators and failure analysis technicians

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent (or 7 years of relevant experience)
• 2+ years of experience as a Test Engineer in a manufacturing environment
• Experience designing test fixtures and working with automated test equipment
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Visual Basic, .NET, C++, C, Lab-View, or Shell Scripting
• Knowledge of Altium Designer and AutoCAD
• Ability to interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and diagrams
• US Person status required for ITAR compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with networking hardware and software
• Experience with Genrad ICT development and debugging
• Experience with flying probe development and debugging
• Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing methods
• Experience with test process validation methods
• Prior experience applying AS9100 or ISO9001 quality standards in a test environment
• Knowledge of ERP systems
