Test Engineer II/Senior

Responsibilities

• Upgrade and operate test infrastructure for Neutron primary structures qualification and load testing
• Ensure high quality data collection from test campaigns
• Develop and upgrade software for test systems
• Own assembly, checkouts, and development testing of Neutron test stands
• Develop procedures and processes for primary structures tests
• Lead problem containment and root cause/corrective action investigations
• Analyze and resolve manufacturing discrepancies and non-conformances
• Collaborate with quality teams on continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform structured root cause analysis of in-process failures
• Liaison between production, quality, supply chain, and design engineering
• Plan and execute capital equipment and layout upgrades
• Lead continuous improvement via Lean/Six Sigma tools

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field
• 2+ years experience troubleshooting fluid components (valves, actuators, regulators)
• Experience building high pressure, pneumatic, hydrostatic, and cryogenic test stands
• Experience with CAD systems (preferably NX)
• Experience with data acquisition
• Strong foundation in control theory and control systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
• Experience with aerospace component design, build, and testing
• History of operating component test stands for production acceptance
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for fluid components
• Experience with LabVIEW, Python, C, C++, or MATLAB
• Expertise in fluid and structural mechanics
