Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and validation of ARCI SONAR systems for in-service and new-construction submarine platforms
• Interact with engineering groups to define, document, analyze, and interpret tests for products and systems
• Identify functional problems, suggest resolutions, and perform bug/defect identification
• Conduct Performance Verification Testing and ensure procedures comply with industry standards
• Document and analyze test cases to provide feedback for product or design changes
• Qualify as Sonar Test Director to oversee and evaluate software longevity testing
• Perform Validation and Verification of Program Trouble Reports

Requirements

• Active Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required)
• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant engineering/testing experience (or equivalent experience per company guidelines)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot operational software and hardware
• Experience with bug/defect identification and validation/verification processes
• Ability to work on-site in Manassas, VA and support shift work for event testing
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Working knowledge of ARCI SONAR computer systems and integrated software applications
• Deep understanding of SONAR theory and Submarine SONAR operations
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, MATLAB, and Linux
• Familiarity with Navy safety requirements and OSHA standards
