Test and Development Technician

Responsibilities

• Support vehicle test programmes through electrical and mechanical build and modification
• Perform instrumentation, diagnostics, and fault-finding activities
• Work closely with Test & Development Engineers to ensure vehicles are correctly configured
• Conduct testing both on-site and at external proving grounds
• Work with prototype vehicles and advanced systems including EV and hybrid platforms

Requirements

• Strong electrical and mechanical background
• Experience in automotive or complex engineering environments
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Proficiency in diagnosing technical issues
• Proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with commercial vehicles, buses, coaches, or HGVs
• Exposure to EV or hybrid systems, high-voltage, and CAN networks
• Experience with vehicle instrumentation and data logging systems
• PSV or HGV driving licence
• Background in rail, aerospace, marine, or mobile plant sectors
