About the role

Responsibilities

  • Secure orders from existing and potential customers through on-site visits, phone, or email
  • Conduct daily sales calls to both distributors and end users
  • Identify and secure opportunities to quote on customer requirements
  • Follow up timely on submitted quotations via phone or in-person visits
  • Establish professional relationships with key stakeholders in the ordering process
  • Manage distribution through monthly strategy sessions and annual reviews of discounts and stock plans
  • Maintain error-free daily activity logs in the CRM and submit weekly activity reports
  • Train distributors and end users on OSG products
  • Present technical solutions by testing, documenting, and closing sales opportunities

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of sales experience in cutting tools or related industries
  • Must live in the assigned territory (Birmingham, AL area)
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Ability to travel by air and overnight, including entertaining customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of outside sales experience in the cutting tool industry
  • Degree in engineering, business, or marketing
  • Experience with blueprint reading
  • Machinist experience in a manufacturing environment
  • CPSP or CMTSE certification
  • Proven track record of sales growth
