About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day terminal operations in a safe and controlled manner
  • Act as shift controller managing process operations, permit to work, and general plant interactions
  • Lead toolbox talks and pre-start safety discussions
  • Prioritize planned tasks, contractors, and unplanned activities effectively
  • Oversee stock movements, perform regular reconciliations, and communicate product availability
  • Liaise with various organizational areas to optimize fuel movements and contractor tasks
  • Engage with the site's personal safety system and report incidents in a timely manner
  • Maintain a calm and controlled demeanor during emergency response scenarios

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience in an equivalent role or relevant industry experience
  • Ability to work a 24/7, 365-day shift pattern, including day and night shifts
  • Flexibility to accommodate shift cover for holidays, sickness, or low staffing levels
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices
  • Excellent communication skills for working with diverse cultural and social backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office desktop applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • English and Mathematics GCSE grade C or above
  • GQA, NVQ, or equivalent in Warehouse and Storage / Bulk Liquid Operations
  • Electrical or Mechanical qualifications
  • Experience with DCS, SCADA, or HMI systems
