About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct research under supervision studying intermediate filament proteins in digestive organs and working with porphyria mouse and zebrafish models
- Assist with zebrafish propagation, including microinjections, protein isolation via microdissection, and specialized staining/microscopy
- Perform mouse experiments including colony maintenance, breeding, genotyping, and data recording
- Provide technical support to senior lab members regarding mouse porphyria model characterization
- Perform cell and tissue cultures, including maintaining culture stocks and records
- Execute standard molecular and cell biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation, western blotting, histology, and immunofluorescence
- Accurately document and maintain detailed records of all experimental work and results
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or a related scientific discipline
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard biochemical, molecular biology, and cell biology techniques
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and communicating effectively)
- Ability to perform manual laboratory tasks including pipetting and microscopy

- Relevant prior laboratory experience working with mice as model systems
