About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one academic support to students registered with the Center for Disability Resources (CDR).
- Assist students with executive functioning, time management, study strategies, organizational development, and note-taking skills.
- Apply strategies to help mitigate manifestations of a student's disability and enhance critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Attend mandatory training related to supporting students with disabilities.
- Document all student interactions and submit comprehensive case notes in the system within 24 hours of appointments.
- Communicate immediately with CDR Coordinators if a student appears to be in an academic or personal crisis.
- Support the CDR Exam Center during final exam periods.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience providing academic support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles.
- Ability to prepare detailed case notes and professional reports.
- Commitment to confidentiality and academic integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with the disability community.
- Understanding of various academic strategies and campus resources.
