Teller I

Responsibilities

• Process routine banking transactions including cashing checks, accepting deposits, and issuing official checks
• Verify endorsements, signatures, and identification to ensure transaction legality and accuracy
• Enter transactions into Teller Capture software with precision and provide customer receipts
• Reconcile cash drawer to company balancing expectations through careful counting and packaging
• Identify customer needs and make sales referrals for products such as credit cards, savings accounts, and insurance
• Manage risk by detecting fraudulent transactions and complying with security and dual-control procedures
• Maintain a neat, organized, and confidential work area

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including telephone etiquette
• Strong attention to detail and excellent math skills
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism when dealing with customers
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods
• Trustworthiness and the ability to act with integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of cash handling experience
• Two years of customer service experience
