Telemetry Planner/Controller

Responsibilities

• Manage critical real-time telemetry and range safety data to support launch vehicle tracking requirements on the Western Range
• Perform operational duties as a Telemetry Controller, Radar Controller, Acquisition Data Systems Controller, or Real-Time Data Controller
• Analyze and perform planning functions utilizing the official Universal Documentation System (UDS)
• Coordinate personnel actions and manage mission systems during operations in the Range Control Center (RCC) or Missile Flight Control Center (MFCC)
• Troubleshoot and communicate circuit and telemetry or Flight Operations system issues in real-time
• Conduct pre-test briefings and post-test critiques
• Plan, develop, and draft training procedures and mentor other Planner/Controllers
• Evaluate system conditions during pre-launch and launch activities to provide recommendations to Mission Control Specialists

Requirements

• Associates degree in a technical and/or analytical field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
• Two years of Western Range technical experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and make educated decisions under pressure during countdowns
• Flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or weekends to support mission requirements
