About the role
Responsibilities
- Support daily field operations for telecommunications and low-voltage scopes, including fiber optic and copper cabling, pathways, and equipment installation.
- Coordinate telecom work with electrical, mechanical, and general construction teams to ensure proper sequencing.
- Assist with the review and distribution of drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation, installation records, and testing documentation.
- Track installed quantities, production rates, and material deliveries to support progress reporting.
- Perform field inspections to verify work meets project specifications and industry standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC).
- Support safety initiatives by participating in safety meetings, JHAs, and site inspections.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Technology, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
- 1–5 years of experience in construction, preferably supporting telecommunications, low-voltage, or data center projects.
- Basic understanding of structured cabling systems, fiber optics, and telecom infrastructure.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work project-based in Abilene, Texas, including extended hours and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data center or mission-critical facilities.
- Familiarity with telecom standards such as BICSI and TIA/EIA.
- Experience working closely with superintendents and self-perform crews.
- Proficiency with construction management tools, drawings, and reporting systems.
