About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Major Incident and problem review calls for critical cash and payment systems
  • Drive resiliency and legacy modernization initiatives, including ISO 20022 migration projects
  • Coordinate major application migrations and go-live events with development, infrastructure, and business stakeholders
  • Lead Disaster Recovery exercises and implement automation for recovery tasks
  • Enforce standards and processes for incident handling to reduce Mean Time to Restore Service (MTRS)
  • Monitor payment processing cycles, batch jobs, and settlement windows for SWIFT, ACH, and Fed Wires
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents and reconciliation breaks within SLA timelines
  • Execute SQL queries for transaction validation and data analysis
  • Deliver actionable insights and KPI dashboards for senior leadership

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT experience with hands-on expertise in technology support or SRE functions
  • Deep domain knowledge in payments (ACH, Wire, RTP) and banking operations
  • Proficiency in ISO 20022 financial messaging standards and mapping legacy formats
  • Strong expertise in SQL for transaction validation and data analysis
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages such as Bash or Python
  • Proven experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL frameworks
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • Ability to provide weekend and on-call coverage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or AppDynamics
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Remedy, or JIRA
  • Experience supporting AWS-based applications and cloud services
  • Knowledge of middleware and messaging technologies like IBM MQ, Kafka, or Websphere
  • Experience leading geographically distributed and diverse teams
