Technologist Trainee - Production

Responsibilities

• Maintain an effective Quality Assurance system within the CNC machine shop
• Oversee the machining of products to ensure they meet all technical specifications
• Monitor and ensure timely Route Card movement aligned with material processing
• Perform daily maintenance checks, including lubrication, cleaning, and machine upkeep
• Troubleshoot CNC programs, operations, and related equipment issues
• Inspect finished parts and record production data, logs, and any deviations or defects
• Train and coach casual workers to reach required competency levels
• Support continual improvement projects and LEAN management systems
• Follow strict workplace safety protocols and participate in hazard assessments

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in CNC operations and maintenance activities
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and assembly
• Working knowledge of CNC programming fundamentals, specifically G-codes and M-codes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges
• Competence in preparing machines by installing tools, fixtures, and materials
