About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform assays for molecular biology projects through development, validation, and execution phases
  • Perform assays according to SOPs and support the development of new procedures
  • Execute techniques related to RNA and DNA extractions, qPCR, and NGS
  • Run quality control and clinical samples to generate data
  • Maintain reagent stocks and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Work with QA to ensure lab operations comply with CLIA, GLP, and GCP standards
  • Train new personnel on project-related assays and daily lab work

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Biology, or a related discipline
  • More than 2 years of prior related laboratory experience
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques
  • Strong computational skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance and work in cold freezer environments
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of related experience, preferably in an NGS core facility or lab
  • MB (ASCP) certification
  • Wet lab experience in the full NGS workflow (Illumina or Ion Torrent)
  • Experience with qPCR, ddPCR, and NanoString
  • Experience with DNA and RNA extractions from various sources
  • Understanding of GLP, CAP, CLIA, or ISO standards
