Technician

Responsibilities

• Record, evaluate, and validate instrumentation data for LECO, ICP, XRF, AAS, and Wet Chem
• Perform routine and non-routine analytical operations on specific instrumentation
• Ensure turnaround times are met for all instrumentation analysis
• Assist in validating new methods or modifications under senior guidance
• Adhere to quality protocols for accreditation and Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO17025)
• Record day-to-day repairs, maintenance, calibration, and verification of instruments
• Maintain housekeeping standards for the general working area
• Comply with all quality, health, and safety rules and regulations

Requirements

• Matriculation with Mathematics and Science
• At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting
• Operational experience in a SANAS 17025 accredited facility
• Experience with LIMS administration and operation
• Proficiency in sample preparation and Fire Assay procedures
• Experience in instrumentation, data collection, and reporting
• Ability to work shifts and overtime as necessary
• Fluency in English (speaking, writing, and understanding)
