About the role
Responsibilities
- Cut and thread pipes using pipe cutters, cutting torches, and pipe threading machines
- Bend pipes to required angles using bending machines or manual methods
- Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
- Fill pipe systems with water or air and use pressure gauges to check for leaks
Requirements
- Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements
- Proficiency with common hand tools and power tools (e.g., drills, screw guns)
- Ability to read and understand plumbing drawings
- Ability to lift and move 40 lbs regularly
- Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and climbing ladders
- Successful completion of drug and background screening
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of plumbing experience
- High school diploma or GED
