Technician II

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on steering, electrical, cooling, braking, drive trains, suspensions, and transmissions.
• Assist with the rebuilding of engines, transmissions, and differentials.
• Conduct test drives during preventative maintenance inspections and after service to confirm successful repairs.
• Identify and report necessary maintenance or repairs required for fleet safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of time spent, parts used, and maintenance conducted.
• Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, and AC repair skills.
• Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.
• Familiarity with both diesel and gasoline systems.
• Possession of the recommended minimum hand tools for a medium/heavy duty diesel technician.
• Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid CDL License (must be obtainable within the first 90 days of employment).
• ASE Certification in brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, or A/C.
• Master School Bus and/or Master Truck Technician certification.
