About the role
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain, and repair pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation and analytical equipment
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on low-voltage electrical systems up to 480VAC, including motor controls and electrical distribution systems
- Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and ladder logic to diagnose equipment issues
- Complete repair history, calibration records, and work order documentation accurately within the CMMS system
- Conduct installation, calibration, and testing for electrical and instrumentation systems, including conduit and tubing installation
- Provide technical assistance and safety oversight for contractors while ensuring compliance with site procedures
- Participate in on-call responsibilities and support plant operations through preventive maintenance and functional testing
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an I&E Technician in a chemical plant, refinery, or similar industrial manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and safe electrical work practices in industrial environments
- Proficiency with P&IDs, electrical schematics, and I&E hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations
Preferred Qualifications
- NCCER Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation certification
- Experience with DCS and SIS systems
