About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct research to understand the pathophysiology of pediatric eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and identify novel biomarkers and drug targets.
- Formulate research hypotheses, design and conduct experiments, and implement statistical analyses.
- Maintain mouse lines, including colony maintenance, genotyping, mating, and administering treatments.
- Perform dissections to isolate tissue-specific protein and mRNA for RT-PCR and western immunoblotting.
- Culture 2D and 3D cell systems using mouse cell lines and primary cells.
- Manage laboratory organization, including inventory of supplies, preparation of stock reagents, and management of expenditures.
- Complete all necessary data documentation, coding, cleaning, and entry.
- Participate in weekly work meetings and collaborate with the PI and research team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or physics, or completion of an animal husbandry program.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of standard laboratory procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of related research experience.
- Experience in stem cell and epithelial cell biology.
- Experience in human development and disease research.
- Experience conducting independent research experiments and projects.
