Technician A - Nephrology

Responsibilities

• Prepare and purify proteins from bacterial cultures and mammalian tissues
• Perform Western blotting and immunofluorescence assays
• Maintain cell cultures and assist with experimental setups
• Document procedures and results in accordance with lab protocols
• Support general lab maintenance including inventory and equipment upkeep
• Perform additional related duties as assigned to support structural biology research

Requirements

• Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology, or physics (or a completed animal husbandry program)
• One year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training, and experience
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work with laboratory animals
• Successful completion of drug screening and medical surveillance program requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior laboratory experience in molecular biology or biochemistry
• Familiarity with protein purification techniques and immunoassays
