About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform mouse breeding, maintenance, and assist with mouse surgery
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including industrial washers and autoclaves
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of glassware washing and sterilization areas
- Inspect, clean, and maintain glassware and lab equipment
- Support laboratory operations by tracking, ordering, and storing supplies and mail
- Follow all safety protocols regarding PPE, chemicals, and biological waste disposal
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation for compliance
- Assist with training new staff or students on laboratory procedures
- Track billing details and submit required documentation
- Effectively write and communicate research materials
Requirements
- Two years of college or an associate degree
- One year of related experience, or equivalent in education and training
- Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask within timelines
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment to execute experiments
- Inclusive mindset and ability to thrive in a diverse work environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in rodent handling
- Knowledge or experience in mouse breeding and genotyping
