Technical Writer/Technical Editor

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation in German and English, including service descriptions, statements of work, and product documentation
• Translate complex technical content between German and English, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness
• Develop and establish documentation standards, templates, terminology, and best practices
• Manage translation workflows and coordinate with external translation vendors regarding quality, timing, and cost
• Review and refine machine-generated or AI-assisted translations to meet company quality standards
• Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Legal, and Customer Success teams
• Maintain translation memories and terminology databases to ensure consistency
• Create supporting visual materials such as diagrams, screenshots, or flowcharts to improve usability

Requirements

• Degree in Technical Writing, Translation, Communications, Computer Science, or a comparable field
• Several years of professional experience in technical writing, ideally within a technology or IT environment
• Fluency in both written and spoken German and English
• Strong technical understanding with the ability to grasp and communicate complex topics clearly
• Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Word and SharePoint
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with component content management systems (CCMS)
• Knowledge of Spanish and/or French
• Experience in terminology management
• Exposure to agile development methods
• Experience with no-code or AI-supported content creation
