Technical Writer/Editor

Responsibilities

• Perform routine editorial functions including proofreading, formatting, stylesheet verification, and copy editing
• Ensure document compliance with required presentation standards, paragraph headings, numbering, and bibliographic styles
• Maintain consistency in technical abbreviations, acronyms, figure/table callouts, and boilerplate materials
• Compile and verify tables of contents, lists of figures, references, and printer’s dummies
• Conduct research to verify acronyms, terms, and copywriting assignments
• Assist in developing drafts and revisions for marketing collateral, websites, scripts, and white papers
• Work with senior editors and authors to review copy, illustrations, and other submitted materials
• Recommend improvements for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and grammatical construction
• Coordinate document production schedules with authors and technical publication resources
• Review and verify materials after reproduction to ensure conformance to specifications

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Business Administration, English, Journalism, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in technical editing and proofreading engineering publications, specifications, and proposals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InDesign
• Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow strict formats and standards
