Technical Writer

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and manage comprehensive Security Classification Guides (SCGs) for the Integrated Combat System (ICS) in adherence to DoDM 5200.45.
• Conduct detailed information capability analyses to determine protection requirements for critical program information and CUI.
• Formulate precise "Value," "Damage," and "Unclassified" enhancement statements to articulate classification rationale.
• Perform horizontal coordination across DoD components, military services, and agencies to prevent classification conflicts.
• Interface with Original Classification Authorities (OCA), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and systems engineers to assess technological advantages.
• Ensure strict compliance with DoD information security policies, including E.O. 13526 and DoDI 5200.48.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Systems Engineering, Intelligence Studies, Information Assurance, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent specialized DoD classification experience).
• 5-7 years of professional experience in DoD Information Security, Program Protection, Systems Engineering, or Intelligence analysis.
• Demonstrated experience drafting or managing SCGs, Program Protection Plans (PPPs), or Counterintelligence Support Plans (CISPs).
• Active DoD Secret security clearance required on day one.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to work on-site at NSWC Crane or a cleared facility to facilitate interaction with engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience acting as an OCA action officer, security manager, or primary derivative classifier for a Major Defense Acquisition Program (MDAP).
• Familiarity with the DTIC SCG repository and DD Form 2024 submissions.
• Completion of Original Classification Authority (OCA) training provided by the DCSA CDSE.
