Technical Vehicle Test Operator

Responsibilities

• Drive test vehicles for long-distance local missions and extensive travel missions (up to 50% travel)
• Perform daily start-up, engagement, disengagement, and shutdown procedures for development vehicles
• Monitor and troubleshoot software and hardware systems while on the road
• Execute testing in accordance with strict safety and compliance protocols
• Log test data using CAN tools such as Vehicle Spy and CANalyzer
• Assist with vehicle readiness including software flashing and instrumentation installation
• Collaborate with engineers to provide feedback on system performance

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• 0–2 years of experience in vehicle testing, validation, or development shop support
• Proficiency with vehicle diagnostics and data logging tools (OBD, CAN tools)
• Technical proficiency with computers, including terminal commands and GitHub
• Ability to work rotating schedules, including night shifts and weekends
• Ability to pass a ten-panel drug screening and criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Prior experience in technical driving or fleet operations
• Accredited proving ground driver training
• Exposure to vehicle software flashing tools or bug tracking systems
