Technical Translator

Responsibilities

• Provide oral and written translation and interpretation of technical manuals, correspondences, and instructional materials from English to Arabic and vice versa.
• Ensure accuracy and nuance in all translations to preserve the original intent and tone.
• Edit, proofread, and standardize translated materials prepared by other employees and contractors.
• Research legal, technical, and scientific phraseology pertinent to transportation and engineering projects.
• Contribute to the creation and enrichment of an in-house terminology database.
• Create writing instructions and maintenance manuals for the translation service team.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company documents and correspondences.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and work direction to junior translators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English Language or a similar field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical translation.
• Full fluency in both Arabic and English (written and oral).
• Proven experience in legal or engineering settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Strong understanding of English and Arabic grammar, composition, and spelling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience specifically related to railways and the transportation sector.
• Strong background in technical writing.
