Technical Tender Manager

Responsibilities

• Take technical responsibility for audiovisual systems during the bidding and tender phase of complex exhibition, museum, and pavilion projects.
• Translate creative and scenographic requirements into technically feasible, calculable, and executable AV concepts.
• Analyze tender documents, RFPs, design packages, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Develop technical concepts for audio, video, lighting, media servers, show control, network technology, and interactive systems.
• Define system approaches, materials, technical standards, and interfaces with architecture, MEP, IT, and content teams.
• Create technical descriptions, scope documents, system diagrams, and tender narratives.
• Develop BoQ foundations, quantity frameworks, and technical specifications for audiovisual systems.
• Prepare cost estimates, budget approaches, and technical calculations in coordination with commercial and procurement teams.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor offers for technical and commercial plausibility.
• Identify technical risks, scope gaps, and interface risks during the proposal stage.
• Support value engineering by developing technical alternatives to balance quality, budget, and feasibility.

Requirements

• Proven experience in technical tendering or pre-construction processes for audiovisual systems, ideally within museums, exhibitions, or brand experience spaces.
• Strong understanding of technical concepts, system design, material definition, and cost estimation.
• Deep knowledge of audio, video, light, media servers, show control, networking, and interactive systems.
• Experience working with BoQs, technical specifications, and supplier management.
• Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into realistic solutions.
• Analytical, structured, and precise work style with the ability to deliver under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills to present technical content to internal teams and clients.
• Proficiency in both English and German (C1 level or higher).

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or comparable qualification in Audio-Visual technology, Media Technology, Event Technology, System Integration, or Construction Project Management.
• An existing network of suppliers and subcontractors in the AV, exhibition, or museum industry.
