About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support customers using Synopsys Structural products, including Workbench Mechanical, LS-Dyna, and APDL, to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Diagnose simulation issues by analyzing customer models, boundary conditions, solver output, and convergence behavior.
  • Leverage Synopsys AI-based platforms alongside engineering expertise to accelerate problem resolution and improve workflows.
  • Create and update technical content, including knowledge base articles, workflow guides, and best practice documentation.
  • Build long-term relationships with customers in Japan, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
  • File detailed defect reports, verify fixes during beta testing, and submit product enhancement requests based on customer needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and global support teams to shape product direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience working with engineering simulation software in a technical or customer-facing capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise using Synopsys Structural software (Workbench Mechanical or LS-Dyna) or equivalent commercial CAE platforms.
  • Strong technical foundation in structural analysis, nonlinear analysis, numerical methods, and explicit dynamics.
  • Fluency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken) to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Proven problem-solving ability to methodically troubleshoot vague or complex technical descriptions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in explicit dynamics analysis, specifically regarding crash simulation, drop testing, or high-speed impact scenarios.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role identifying requirements and proposing effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with APDL or Discovery.
