Technical Support Engineer - Optics, Photonics, Zemax

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level technical support to customers and channel partners for the Ansys Optics and Photonics product family.
• Utilize AI-based platforms and technical support toolsets to identify and deliver effective solutions to customer issues.
• Develop deep technical expertise in simulation areas relevant to customer applications and industry trends.
• Submit product improvement suggestions, file defect reports, and verify fixes to improve product quality.
• Document and share technical knowledge to improve team effectiveness and support consistency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Opto-Electronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (MS preferred).
• Solid understanding of photonics and optical physics.
• Strong grounding in simulation techniques and engineering principles.
• Knowledge of Python scripting; familiarity with machine learning basics is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Ansys software or other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, or PLM software.
• Experience in customer support or application-oriented problem solving.
