About the role

About the Company

Kombo (YC S22) is building a unified API that saves engineering teams hundreds of hours by integrating dozens of HRIS, ATS, and Payroll systems into one API. We abstract away the complexity of handling different data schemas, authentication methods, and API quirks.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and debug API integrations, data-sync issues, and authentication flows (OAuth, API keys)
  • Assist customer engineers via Slack, email, and video calls with clear technical guidance
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to escalate bugs and relay customer feedback
  • Create and maintain internal and external technical documentation and guides
  • Implement smaller new features across the codebase based on findings
  • Set up tooling, automation, and reporting to scale support capabilities

Requirements

  • Solid technical background (Software Engineer, Support Engineer, or Solutions Engineer)
  • Ability to read and write code, specifically JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Proficiency in understanding data flows and logs
  • Ability to navigate and debug complex codebases
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to various audiences
  • Ability to work onsite in Manhattan, NYC

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a technical support role
  • Experience with REST, SOAP, and OAuth
  • Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, SQL, and GCP
