Technical Staff Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and validation of mechanical components and assemblies within the Mechanical Engineering Center of Excellence (MECOE).
• Develop and lead mechanical development strategies at both product and portfolio levels.
• Drive innovation by researching and integrating new technologies through partnerships with internal teams and external providers.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the entire design cycle, from concept development to execution and sustaining phases.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality, and tooling teams to define requirements and optimize designs.
• Mentor and guide team members to ensure excellence in mechanical strategy implementation.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with expertise in product design and optimization.
• Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD systems, including concept modeling and production model interrogation.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical simulations, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing-driven design.
• Expert understanding of mechanical drawings, 3D databases, and statistical quality/process control (SPC) methods.
• Proven success collaborating with external partners to deliver innovative solutions for enterprise or consumer products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience using Pro-E/CREO and ANSYS.
• Specialized experience in the design and analysis of electronics enclosures (PC, server, or similar platforms).
• Experience in developing intellectual property and patent generation.
