Technical Staff Engineer - Emulation

Responsibilities

• Develop test strategies and test plans within a SoC or IP framework based on microcontroller specifications
• Implement system-level tests for specific macros
• Execute and debug tests on FPGA prototypes of microcontrollers
• Specify and develop complex embedded firmware, including RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr
• Suggest design changes to meet customer and market needs
• Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and applications teams to improve microcontroller quality

Requirements

• MSEE with 13+ years of experience or BSEE with 15+ years of experience
• 12+ years of experience in embedded software development
• Strong C coding skills
• Electronics knowledge including classic circuits, oscilloscope usage, soldering, and reading electronic diagrams
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, or Python for workflow automation
• Experience using IDEs like MPLABX, VS Code, Keil, or IAR
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-site, multicultural organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the field of testing
• Knowledge of the ARM Cortex-M core family
• Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog languages
• Ability to run RTL simulations
• Experience using Git and working in a Linux environment
