About the role
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams to define new product features
- Create functional FPGA IP units and assemble multiple IP complexes into full system designs
- Write detailed documentation for IP and FPGA designs
- Create test benches to simulate and verify IP units
- Build and test complex FPGA designs and work with hardware engineers on board bring-up
- Support software engineers in the development and debugging of drivers for FPGA units
- Develop tools for testing and support product sustaining efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar field
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience
- 10+ years of FPGA/ASIC IP and system design experience
- Proficiency with VHDL and/or Verilog
- Hands-on experience with FPGA/ASIC design and verification
- Strong understanding of digital design concepts, principles, and computer architecture
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Experience with Ethernet design and IEEE 1588 PTP and NTP protocols
- Experience with clock/frequency synthesis and measurement
- Proficiency with FPGA build tools (e.g., Libero, Quartus, or Vivado) and debug tools (e.g., Identify Debugger, SignalTap, or ChipScope)
- Experience with simulation tools such as ModelSim/QuestaSim
- Proficiency with Python, TCL, or other scripting languages
- Experience with board-level design
