Technical Staff Engineer - Design

Responsibilities

• Own complex digital integrated circuits at the block, subsystem, or device level using Verilog and System Verilog
• Translate complex architectural requirements into realizable microarchitecture for targeted technology nodes
• Lead and mentor design engineers while scoping and scheduling technical deliverables
• Define subsystem and block feature sets and document design implementation and register details
• Collaborate with global design and verification teams to resolve technical issues and communicate status
• Justify design implementation decisions and associated trade-offs to executive leadership
• Support emulation and ASIC lab validation, including lab debug and providing logic modifications
• Develop expertise in applicable storage and computer interface protocol standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field
• 12+ years of related experience in semiconductor design
• Extensive experience in RTL design using System Verilog or Verilog
• Deep understanding of complex ASIC design flows, including simulation, debug, logic synthesis, and static timing analysis
• Proficiency in scripting and programming using Python, Perl, Tcl, Bash, or Csh
• Proven experience integrating 3rd party and high-speed mixed-signal IP
• Experience working with physical design teams for layout implementation
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to solve complex EDA tool or design issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Protocol knowledge and experience in PCI-Express
• Knowledge of AHB/AXI bus protocols
• Experience with low power methodology and flows
• Working knowledge of Design for Test (DFT)
• Experience with Formal Verification
