About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure all received samples are diagnosed and issued within turnaround times
- Perform investigational analysis including planning and execution of out-of-scope operations
- Generate bespoke reporting in accordance with business and customer requirements
- Provide technical assistance to team leaders to maintain efficient laboratory operations
- Liaise with customers regarding analytical test issues and delays
- Maintain instrument uptime by assisting with analytical instrument issues such as ICP, Viscosity, and FTIR
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry Qualification (C&G / HNC / HND)
- Experience in a used oil laboratory or lubricant industry technical role
- Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Experience in wet chemistry analysis
- Proficiency in Excel
- Experience interpreting FTIR, GC-MS, and ICP data
