About the role
Responsibilities
- Create Epic Cogito reporting content, including customized dashboards, complex reporting workbenches, and SlicerDicer custom filters.
- Integrate AI and cognitive computing models into Epic reporting content.
- Build reporting content using SQL within Epic’s Clarity and Caboodle databases.
- Lead complex Cogito projects on the Data & Analytics roadmap.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end-users to analyze data consumer needs.
- Develop, test, and validate reporting content across Proof of Concept (POC), Testing (TST), and Production (PRD) environments.
- Maintain the Epic Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records.
- Design and implement enterprise-wide reporting security policies.
- Provide technical documentation (SRS, PRD) and training to end-users.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or an equivalent field.
- 5+ years of experience in building, testing, and deploying Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Analytics reporting tools.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts.
- Hands-on experience working with the Epic EMR system.
- Knowledge of Ontario healthcare clinical and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate end-user workflows into technical data requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Epic Cogito certification.
- In-depth knowledge of UHN system builds and end-user workflows.
- Experience with large-scale IT clinical transformations in a healthcare setting.
