Technical Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead method development projects from conception and validation through to write-up and UKAS accreditation pack submission
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Customer Service, and Sales to provide expert technical support
• Investigate and resolve method issues, identifying root causes to prevent impact on routine work
• Support third-party surveillance visits, UKAS audits, and the ISO 17025 accreditation programme
• Drive continuous improvement by implementing innovative solutions and improved procedures
• Deliver hands-on training to team members to build technical capability across the department

Requirements

• Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related discipline
• Knowledge of metals, anions, suspended solids, pH, and alkalinity
• Proven laboratory experience in method development and validation to ISO 17025 requirements
• Hands-on experience with ICP and anions instrumentation
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to evaluate validation and performance data
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
