Technical Services Specialist

Responsibilities

• Oversee Interlibrary Loan (ILL), cataloging, and acquisitions processes
• Manage library budgets, including tracking expenditures and monitoring endowment funds
• Process and monitor ILL borrowing and lending requests using bibliographic databases and management tools
• Oversee copy-cataloging operations to ensure accuracy of records in the Integrated Library System (ILS)
• Hire, train, and supervise student employees responsible for scanning, retrieving, and processing materials
• Manage billing and payments for overdue or lost items in coordination with the University Business Office
• Coordinate the preparation of the library budget and reconcile petty cash and purchasing cards
• Compile ILL statistics for annual reports and collection development decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Three years of experience working with budgets or accounting procedures
• Experience in library technical services
• Knowledge of MARC formats and electronic bibliographic records
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office productivity suites
• Familiarity with cataloging rules and online library systems
