About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary IT liaison for the Regent University Police Department (RUPD) and the Communications Center
  • Manage and support specialized law enforcement systems, including GENETEC surveillance, access control, and key tracking
  • Administer Microsoft Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Office Suite platforms
  • Diagnose and resolve network performance issues involving DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP
  • Maintain and secure endpoints using antivirus, encryption, and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Ensure compliance with CJIS Security Policy, HIPAA, and FERPA mandates
  • Support digital evidence protection, including body-worn cameras and Records Management Systems (RMS)
  • Provide technical training to officers and support staff on IT systems and cyber hygiene

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant IT experience
  • Must obtain CJIS Security Awareness Training upon hire
  • Proficiency with Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP protocols
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience supporting law enforcement or criminal justice systems (RMS, CAD, NCIC)
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CISSP certification
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
