Technical Services Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and failure investigations for steel can and end manufacturing at customer locations.
• Lead customer complaint investigations by gathering samples, traceability information, and relevant data.
• Work with customers to quarantine suspect products while minimizing operational disruptions.
• Lead or assist in sorting and containment activities at customer sites.
• Provide technical training to customers regarding steel food cans, ends, and double seam evaluation.
• Prepare specification documents, technical certifications, and customer communications.
• Perform statistical analysis of manufacturing data to support quality and technical projects.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following all company and customer safety protocols.

Requirements

• BS in a physical science or engineering field (e.g., Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Packaging, or Mechanical/Chemical/Metallurgical/Materials Science).
• 2+ years of experience in an industrial or academic laboratory setting.
• Experience in food, beverage, or consumer products manufacturing.
• Experience with steel, coatings, or corrosion testing/engineering.
• Strong data and statistical analysis capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% to customer or internal manufacturing locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 2-piece and 3-piece steel can manufacturing processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with internal manufacturing teams and external customers.
