About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical safety engineering expertise to support capital projects and operating assets
- Consult on risk studies execution and the development of risk reduction plans
- Perform consequence modelling and advise on parameters for quantitative risk models
- Lead key quantitative and qualitative safety studies, including MOCs
- Develop quantitative risk models and verify QRA conformance with company standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate safety considerations throughout the project lifecycle
- Manage MOC and PSSR digital tool administration and provide quantitative quality reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, etc.)
- 5-10 years of experience in technical safety engineering within industrial, manufacturing, or energy sectors
- Familiarity with modelling software such as PHAST, SAFETI, iPRSM, HYSYS, Pro/II, or FlareSim
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management concepts including PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, and MOC
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Process Engineering within complex process facilities
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals related to overpressure protection (flare and relief)
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Chartered Engineer
- Familiarity with international safety standards like OSHA, ISO 45001, or IEC 61508
