Technical Rating

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all machinery and electrical equipment onboard the vessel
• Carry out the role of GP Rating
• Perform vessel checks before departure including stability, stress, trim, and watertight integrity
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and machinery spaces
• Arrange transfers of fuel, lube oil, and fresh water
• Execute planned maintenance and emergency repairs
• Maintain engine room records accurately
• Participate in safety drills and training

Requirements

• AEC 1 certification (capable of obtaining AEC2)
• Nav Watch rating Certificate (hold or able to obtain)
• Formal Qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline
• ENG 1 medical certificate
• Elementary First Aid, Basic Fire Fighting, and Sea Survival Course certifications
• RYA Powerboat Level 2
• Good command of English (written and spoken)
• Basic ICT and fleet management system skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of technical operation of designated equipment installations
• Knowledge of applicable Occupational Health & Safety rules
